That's all the celebrating we did on Friday night, but then Saturday night, our friends Ashley and Carleton came over and my brother, David, and his girlfriend, Halle, came up for the weekend from SC (they actually came up late Friday night). Saturday night, we had one intense game of Mexican Train...for real! There was screaming, fake crying, growls, kisses, I love yous...everything you can imagine. Ben was victorious by a large margin and no one knows how because he was watching the Oklahoma/Texas game the whole time! Seriously, he had like 130 and the rest of us had like 400...it's ridiculous!
Since I didn't make him a birthday cake on Friday for his actual birthday, I had to do something good on Saturday...I, like Red Robin, do not disappoint! Or, at least I don't think I did. This is what I like to call "pure goodness" even though it's probably soooo bad for you! Whatever!
It was SOOOO GOOD! It's brownies on the bottom, then it's vanilla bean ice cream that has fresh blueberries and strawberries mixed in it, then a layer of oreos and thin mints crushed up with blueberries dropped in. I know, that's a lot of different flavors, but oh...my...goodness...it's so good! There is still a small amount left in my freezer, and I think I might eat it in just a minute! The thin mints were definitely a nice taste...good purchase on Saturday while roaming around Franklin St. with David and Halle. Go girl scouts...sell those cookies!
To top all of that off, we had to speak on Sunday in church. I spoke on adversity based on Elder Wirthlin's talk "Come what may, and love it" and Ben spoke on Jesus Christ and how he was the greatest 3 round wrestler who ever lived. I think we did pretty well! It was a great weekend! Hopefully, Ben enjoyed it, since it was his birthday weekend!

Keep that recipe...just in case!! :)
Umm ALMOST everything about that weekend was awesome....the cake, the company, the talks- but NOT the fact that I lost at Mexican train, and NOT the fact that you didn't answer your phone when we were waiting downstairs friday night, and I think that's it the rest was great:)
Yummy looking cake. Matt turns 26 tomorrow, and he asked for a carrot cake. Of all cakes, he wants a carrot cake. It's a good thing Ben didn't play against us on his birthday 'cause we would've beat him for sure. :) Happy almost 30th haha! jk
